Wall Township Fire District No. 1 is an autonomous entity whose mission is to protect the lives and properties of the residents of Wall Township Fire District #1 and its neighboring communities from the perils of fire. The Fire District is funded through a fire tax and governed by a five-member Board of Fire Commissioners.
Wall Fire District No. 1 employs a staff of four full time and three part time individuals who assist with managing the daily operations of the Fire District as well as fire prevention duties.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14-70.1 (b), the Board of Fire Commissioners contracts with the Wall Fire Company No.1 for the purpose of fire suppression and rescue efforts. The Wall Fire Company supports the District with 25+ active volunteer firefighters who respond to over 150 calls for service annually throughout the District.
These proud volunteers are supplemented by the career firefighting staff of Wall Township Fire District 3, Monday-Friday from 6:30am-4:30pm. See our shared services page for more information on this agreement.
Wall Township Fire District No. 1 also provides, through shared services agreements, fire inspection services to Wall Township Fire Districts No. 2 and No. 3. The uniformed staff of the Bureau of Fire Prevention perform all commercial fire safety inspections, and all pre-sale residential inspections throughout the Township of Wall.
The Administrative Offices of the Fire District are located at 1612 Route 71, Wall, with general hours of operation being Monday – Thursday 9am-3pm.
